I am a writer and academic based in York, UK.

I specialise in folk horror, hauntology, memoir and material culture.

My middle-grade novel, The Wandspringer, was published by Foolscap and Quill in August 2025.

I am Professor of Writing and Popular Culture in the York Centre for Writing at York St John University.

I convene the Hauntology and Spectrality Research Group and the Music, Memory and Narrative Research Groups.
